Actor Salman Khan, who is all excited about the release of the movie Ek Tha Tiger, has roped in a Pakistani singer for his upcoming movie Dabangg 2. And he is none other than Sufi singer Shadab Faridi, who has already crooned several songs for a few Bollywood movies and an Indian TV show.

Shadaab Faridi is extremely talented, with a rare blend of unique and powerful voice. He has carved a niche for himself in sufi singing. Sufi singing runs in his blood. He belongs to the Saharanpur gharana. Talking about Salman Khan's Dabangg 2, the singer said, "As a singer, I feel very lucky that I got a chance to be a part of Salman Khan upcoming movie. As a sufi singer its great to be work with Bollywood Khans."

Shadaab Faridi has already made his mark in Bollywood music industry. Before Dabbang 2, he has lend his voice for many Bollywood big stars like Saif Ali Khan's Agent Vinod, Bollywood perfectionist Amir Khan show Satyamev Jayate, R Madhavan's Jodi Breakers and Amitabh Bachchan's Movie Rann.

However, Salman Khan's upcoming movie Dabangg 2 is a sequel his Blockbuster film Dabangg, which has the music of Sajid and Wajid. Following its huge success, Khan has once again roped the duo for this film too. T- Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, who had acquired the music rights of Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2, is bowled over by its music and has even predicted a mega musical success of the film.

Be it a zany cop in Dabangg or a sturdy bodyguard in Bodyguard, Salman Khan says he likes to portray heroic characters on-screen.

The 46-year-old actor says he likes it when his movies are larger than life and whether its romance, drama or action, he will continue depicting heroism.

"I want to portray heroism in every walk of life. It's not that I only want to do action films, if I get good comedy or romantic movies I will take them up but whatever I do has to be larger than life. I will do films which make people happy. I want families to go and watch films in theatres like we did before," said Salman, who was in the Capital today to promote his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie also stars Katrina Kaif and will hit the theatres on August 15. In his 24-year-old career, it is for the first time that he has teamed up with Yash Raj Films.

"I enjoyed shooting for the film, infact I think I enjoyed so much that others weren't able to have fun. It took many days to shoot the film and Kabir

was nice enough to let us enjoy and visit the places we wanted to see," he said.

Salman plays a RAW agent in Ek Tha Tiger and he says he chose the film not because of the banner or star cast but because of the script.

"I liked the script that is why I did the film. It is true that you get attracted to all other factors like money, star cast, banner, but it is very important that the script is good. That is the reason sometimes we compromise with the story but I think that should never happen because you won't be able to do justice to it," Salman said.

Talking about working with Sooraj Barjatya after a long gap, the actor said, "He has narrated a script and I have like it a lot. The tentative title is Bade Bhaiya, I like it but he is not sure if he wants to keep it."

As for what the day signifies for him, Salman adds, “I think enough talking has been done already about how much we love our country, now it’s about time we put all that love into action. More than the words, our society needs to see action today.”

Elaborating further, the actor adds that the best way to pay an ode to those we owe our freedom to, is to work towards the betterment of those around us. “A little charity from each one of us can go a long way to help hundreds out there.”

But point out that the charity work by the actor is often taken to be a publicity stunt, and Salman waves it off. “People can do it for any reason. Whether it is for publicity or to get rid of your guilt, or whatever it is you want to do it for, magar karo na, that’s what makes all the difference and that’s all that matters. If in your bid for publicity, you can help even one person, then I think we should look at the good that has come of it,” explains Salman. “Our freedom fighters fought for our independence, now that we are a free country, let’s try and make some difference as individuals. They gave us enough to be proud of them. Now, let us give something to our coming generations, so they can be proud of us too,” shares Salman.

Actor Katrina Kaif, who won critical acclaim for her role in the 2010 film Raajneeti, is excited to be part of the movie’s sequel. She has a hint of the script, and is looking forward to working with director Prakash Jha again.

“There are very few scripts that are genuinely entertaining. Raajneeti is a script which has been worked on for years. I did hear the idea, I think it’s a genius and brilliant idea. I really hope everything falls in place. The only thing is most of the characters have been killed in the first part,” said Katrina.

Raajneeti, a political thriller, also featured Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.

The 28-year-old actor revealed that Jha is currently busy working on another film with Amitabh Bachchan, but she has had several discussions with him on the sequel. “It is genuinely a good idea. I find it exciting and I really like the character. Right now, he (Jha) is working on another film called Satyagraha with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), but I would love to work with him again. With Prakash we had many discussions on the scripts. He has told me the basic story of the film, but not the entire script, so we have time for that,” she said.

Mumbai, Aug 9 Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is back with former girlfriend Katrina Kaif in upcoming release ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, says he still feels young enough to do romantic roles on the screen.

In a recent chat with a TV channel, when Salman was asked whether he feels too old to do romantic films, the actor said: “No, I don’t think that I am too old to do romance on screen. The time you can do action you can do romance as well. If you can’t do action, there is no romance.”

The leading lady of the film, Katrina, also added in the candid chat, that Salman Khan has changed over the years and has become a much calm person now.

“I think he has become much calmer now. Earlier his energy level is to run around, he used to be insane. Though he has calmed down from that, still it is above normal,” she said speaking to CNN IBN.

The actress also revealed that Salman Khan always had faith that she is surely going to be a big name in the industry.

“He always told me that I am going to be a big in the movies, but I never believed him.”

Katrina, who is all set to do films with Aamir Khan (Dhoom 3: Back in Action) and Shahrukh Khan (Yash Chopra untitled project), said that three Khans’ of Bollywood are different in their own way.

“They are different in their own ways. And the similarity between them is that three of them are iconic figures in the Hindi film industry and are respected actors. Their approaches are certainly different.”

Katrina added that she expects ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to be a better film in her career than her previous films.

Superstar Salman Khan is playing safe - he has decided against travelling to smaller cities to promote his forthcoming film Ek Tha Tiger and he has a valid reason to do so.

"It's not about crowd control. There are women and kids and in their excitement, the men try to take advantage of the fact that there are women in the crowd. Then there are kids and senior citizens who are pushed around. God forbid, if something happens, it comes on to us," the 46-year-old said here in an interview.

"If someone gets injured, that's OK but God forbid if someone dies in these mishaps, then the responsibility falls on us. Then if our security guard pushes someone to protect us, then that also becomes a big issue. So it's better to stay away from all this," he added.

Meanwhile, Salman, who is in an excellent phase of his career where anything he touches turns to gold, says the credit for it goes to those who work behind the scenes to make an excellent final product.

"I have just been lucky. There are people who have worked very hard on their own craft that has made me reach this phase of my life. There are films that have already been made and have done OK and have been great for me, lots of people have worked hard on them," said Salman.

"Like now, Kabir (Khan) has worked really hard on his script and direction. Adi (Aditya Chopra) and Yash Raj have put in a lot of creativity and money in Tiger (Ek Tha Tiger). So when all these things come together on screen, I am going to be hugely benefited by the success of the Friday," added Salman.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger stars Salman in the role of a spy while Katrina Kaif features will be seen opposite Salman. It hits theatres on August 15.

Mumbai: This Christmas Chulbul Pandey will return at the Bollywood box office in the much-awaited sequel to 2010 blockbuster "Dabangg". It will be ready for release Dec 21.

"Well for all the Chulbul Pandey fans... 'Dabangg 2' is almost 60 percent complete. We resume shoot after the promotion and release of 'Ek Tha Tiger'," tweeted Arbaaz Khan who is making his directorial debut with "Dabangg 2".

"'Dabangg 2' is slated for an end of the year Christmas release... 21st Dec 2012," he added. The film will take the story forward with Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha reprising their roles from the first movie.

Katrina, who is currently busy promoting her next release Ek Tha Tiger opposite Salman Khan, is also busy shooting Dhoom:3 with Aamir Khan and Ye Kahan Aa Gaye Hum with SRK.
