Box Office: Sunny Leone’s 'Jism 2' Has A Good Opening Weekend

Despite being bashed by some critics, Sunny Leone’s debut Bollywood film Jism 2 has collected good money in its opening weekend.

The confirmation of the good first weekend collection of Jism 2 comes from none other than the director Pooja Bhatt herself. Pooja tweeted: “'Jism 2' has done a business of Rs.21 crore in India over the weekend (despite releasing during Ramzan). Brand 'JISM', my dears, is here to STAY.”

Roughly Rs. 9 crore of this collection came from the film’s run on Friday and the paid previews on Thursday which was a holiday on account of Raksha Bandhan. The collections dipped on Saturday and picked up a little on Sunday.

However, considering that the film is made on a skimpy budget of Rs. 7 crore, Jism 2 is surely turning out to be a profitable venture for its makers.

Pooja Bhatt is elated by the response. She tweeted: "BRAND 'Jism' is not merely a film. It is a cultural war. It is an EVENT. One that divides crowds passionately and turns its actors into STARS.”

The previous week’s release Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum completed its ten-day run at theatres with a collection of Rs. 40.70 crore.

The coming Friday would see the release of Anurag Kashyap’s much awaited Gangs Of Wasseypur 2.
