Jennifer Lawrence Set For One Of Hollywood's Biggest Ever Pay Rises To Star In 'Hunger Games' Sequel

Jennifer Lawrence Set For One Of Hollywood's Biggest Ever Pay Rises To Star In 'Hunger Games' Sequel

She's one of Hollywood's hottest young actors, and now Jennifer Lawrence is beginning to be paid like it, as she's set to earn an incredible $10m for the sequel to 'The Hunger Games', 'Catching Fire'.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the young Academy Award nominee will see her pay rocket from the $500,000 she received for the original film.

The payrise is comparable to that of the stars of 'The Hangover', whose pay has risen over the course of three movies from a reported $1m to $15m, and that Will Smith received to return for a sequel to 'Men In Black', which saw his pay rocket from an estimated $3.5m to $40m.

Yet when compared to her original fee, the raise dwarfs those pay outs, with it being 20 times what she received when she signed up for 'The Hunger Games'. In the likely event that 'Catching Fire' matches the success of 'The Hunger Games', the pay bump could be even bigger by the time Lawrence signs up for the third movie in the series.

Co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are believed to be receiving substantial but smaller pay bumps.

The huge increase in Jennifer's earning power can be attributed to Lawrence being in two major money making franchises ('The Hunger Games and X-Men), while also garnering critical acclaim when becoming, at 20, the second youngest person to ever be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
