Is Pooja Bhatt Exploiting Sunny Leone?

Is Pooja Bhatt Exploiting Sunny Leone?

What else can you think when the director sahiba gets a real life porn star to play a porn star in the film!

At the press conference to promote Jism 2, the film’s director Pooja Bhatt took great pride in announcing that she had altered the leading lady’s background to that of a porn star when real-life adult film star Sunny Leone came on board for the project. That’s not all. The actor-turned-director sahiba was highly impressed with herself for being the first to cast the Bigg Boss hottie and present a new femme fatale to the Indian audience.

And then we started taking a better look at all the promo material that was being released – the trailers, the songs, the images…and all that made us wonder if Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter’s so-called noble and courageous act is not selfish and exploitative in nature! By casting adult film star Sunny as a porn star and getting her to strip, kiss and make out onscreen with so few inhibitions – something that any other actor would probably shy away from – Pooja has definitely taken advantage of her leading lady’s background.

But wethinks the Canada-born Indian actor was always fully aware that her infamous image would be harped on for all the mileage required to make the film a hit. Don’t you think so too? Or else why would Sunny take up the role of a porn star in a film too? Clearly both Pooja and Sunny knew it was a win-win situation. With Jism 2 the director hopes to add a hit film to her kitty and Sunny makes a big and bold entry into Bollywood.

However, we thought about something else. If the adult star-turned-feature film actor aspires to make a flourishing career in mainstream movies in B-world, she’s going to be highly disappointed. In an industry that is extremely conscious of an actor’s image, and rather prudish in spite of the ‘liberal’ mask it collectively likes to wear, Sunny will be restricted to roles that require sex and sleaze onscreen, wethinks. If the buxom babe desires to work with leading production houses in big-budget films opposite superstars, that will most likely stay a dream. After all, both production houses and audiences prefer ‘family’ films, no?

From that point of view, Pooja’s film Jism 2 certainly has exploited Sunny’s image and experience. While the film provides a grand and eye-grabbing platform for the Canadian adult star to step into B-town on, it mars any chance she has to do mainstream commercial movies here. And wethinks eventually every actor aspires to be part of the clean, entertaining movies that audiences flock to see. A certain Ms Mallika Sherawat or Ms Poonam Pandey would vouch for that!

Hannah Montana Star Miley Cyrus Being Usurped By Jennifer Lawrence

Hannah Montana Star Miley Cyrus Being Usurped By Jennifer Lawrence

Since first becoming famous as the titular star of Disney teen comedy Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has been one of Hollywood’s most visible and glamorous stars.  But for how much longer?  Is it possible the 19-year-old starlet feels her time in the limelight might be up anytime soon?  That’s apparently the case, according to a few unnamed sources who recently spoke to Grazia.  The sources claim that Cyrus believes she is being “threatened by the career and confidence” of Jennifer Lawrence, who became a household name with her starring role in The Hunger GamesYou read that right

Hannah Montana herself feels the threat of Katniss Everdeen.  As the magazine’s sources continued, “Jennifer seems to have replaced Miley as Hollywood’s It girl.  And now Miley seems terrified she’ll replace her as Liam (Hemsworth)’s girlfriend too.  That’s when she started working out so much and the weight dropped off.  Miley’s had to grow up fast and I guess she’s worried her success could all end tomorrow. She’s barely sleeping.  It’s very sad.” Cyrus is currently engaged to Hemsworth, who played Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games.

This report of a potential Miley Cyrus-Jennifer Lawrence feud shouldn’t surprise many.  It wasn’t long ago when Cyrus supposedly had a similar issue during the shooting of Hemsworth’s upcoming film Empire State.  When Emma Roberts, who plays Hemsworth’s girlfriend in the film, entered the set, she had allegedly flaunted her being “single and ready to mingle”, which really upset Cyrus.  Popular, yet often unreliable showbiz tabloid The National Enquirer claimed that Cyrus was very concerned that Roberts was “trying to steal her sweetheart.”  The article went on to claim that the Hannah Montana star yelled out “Hands off my man!”  to her fellow young actress.  According to the Enquirer, “Miley doesn’t want Liam socializing with a loose cannon like Emma.  She thinks the girl is bad news.”

VJs Make Excellent Actors: Shenaz Treasuryvala

VJs Make Excellent Actors: Shenaz Treasuryvala

She was one of the earliest among the popular Video Jockeys (VJ) to make a shift to Bollywood. Now as names like Ayushmann Khurrana and Rannvijay are taking the trend forward, Shenaz Treasuryvala says VJs make excellent actors, given their confidence to face the camera.

"I think VJs make excellent actors as we are not camera-shy and already have confidence. It's all under the blanket of being an on-screen personality," Shenaz told us in an email interview.

Shenaz used to anchor music show 'MTV'S Most Wanted' for many years, before she made a move to Bollywood with Ken Ghosh's 2003 movie 'Ishq Vishk'. After that she featured in films like 'Radio' and 'Delhi Belly'.

The 31-year-old will now be seen in romantic comedy 'Main Aur Mr. Right', in which she plays the role of a perfectionist looking for her 'Mr. Right'.

Shenaz feels every girl will be able to relate to the story.

"Most girls, no matter how practical, independent, mature or modern they claim to be, cannot let go of the teenage girl inside them... the girl who's grown up on Shah Rukh Khan or Tom Hanks' films.

"Somewhere inside us, we are all dreaming of a man to sweep us off our feet and ride us away into the sunset on a big black horse. So I think women of all ages can relate to the movies," she added.

Asked if she is equally choosy in her real life as well, she said: "Not as much as my character. She takes picky to another level. I feel that no man is going to be perfect and check all the boxes so I need to pick my top five and go with a man who fulfills those."

Directed by Adeeb Rais, 'Main Aur Mr. Right' also marks the debut of TV actor Barun Sobti. The film's release date is not yet finalised.

Singer-Actor Martin Was A Hollywood Fixture

Singer-Actor Martin Was A Hollywood Fixture

This Feb. 14, 1957 file photo shows singer Tony Martin at testimonial dinner given Jack Benny by the Frizes Club in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles. Martin, the romantic singer who appeared in movie musicals from the 1930s to the 1950s and sustained a career in records, television and nightclubs from the Depression era into the 21st century, died of natural causes Friday, July 27, 2012, at his West Los Angeles home, his friend and accountant Beverly Scott said Monday. He was 98. AP photo

LOS ANGELES —Tony Martin, the last of the big-name singer-actors from the golden age of Hollywood musicals, has died. He was 98.

Martin, who toured for years with his wife, dancer-actress Cyd Charisse, passed away of natural causes on Friday in his home in Los Angeles, his longtime business manager, Stan Schneider, said.He appeared in more than 30 films, most memorably as a thief at odds with Peter Lorre’s inspector in 1948’s stylish “Casbah,” one of the many movie musicals that helped turn Martin into a star.
Twice, songs sung on screen by Martin received Academy Award nominations: “For Every Man There’s a Woman” from “Casbah” and “It’s a Blue World” from the 1940 film “Music in My Heart.”

He endured as a crooner of romantic ballads, continuing to belt them out onstage well into his 90s.With his powerful voice and beguiling style, Martin was enormously popular from the late 1930s through the 1950s as a singer who helped make standards out of tunes such as “Stranger in Paradise,” “La Vie en Rose,” “Fools Rush In,” “I’ll See You in My Dreams” and many others.
Although dozens of singers recorded Cole Porter’s “Begin the Beguine,” Martin was so identified with it that former Times jazz critic Leonard Feather once described the song as Martin’s “virtual mirror image.”

“Martin reminds you of that era when hearts were worn on sleeves,” Feather wrote in a 1970 Times review of a local nightclub performance. “He lets all the emotions hang out, rising to a triplet-backed crescendo on ‘For Once in My Life’ and singing ‘I Am in Love’ as if addressing it to Rita Hayworth in a tight close-up,” a reference to the glamorous stars with whom he shared the silver screen — and regularly escorted around town. His tenor voice won him roles in such 1936 movie musicals as “Pigskin Parade” with Judy Garland and Betty Grable and the riverboat saga “Banjo on My Knee” with Barbara Stanwyck. He also co-starred in 1941’s extravagantly choreographed “Ziegfeld Girl,” serenading Garland, Hedy Lamarr and Lana Turner with “You Stepped Out of a Dream.”

By the early 1960s, movie musicals and his singing career had crested, and he began touring with Charisse in a cabaret act. He pulled from a treasury of songs that included “I Get Ideas” and “It’s Magic,” and his wife danced. To him, walking out on to a nightclub floor is as simple and natural as going to the kitchen for a glass of water,” Charisse said in “The Two of Us,” the joint autobiography she wrote with Martin in 1976.
The couple marked 60 years of marriage in 2008, the year she died at 86. A bereft Martin, then 94, dealt with his grief by continuing to perform live, he later said.

Although he no longer was a belter, the rich timbre of his voice was “surprisingly unchanged from what it was in the 1940s and ‘50s,” according to a 2009 New York Times review during a five-night engagement at a New York City nightclub.Cued by his pianist, the 95-year-old Martin sang “perfectly recollected versions” of songs associated with contemporaries such as Bing Crosby (“I Surrender, Dear”) and “There’s No Tomorrow,” which Martin said was given to him by Perry Como, according to the review.
Martin viewed his performing style as heartfelt, telling the Los Angeles Times in 1960: “I think I sound like a fella who’s always making a plea through his music. Sort of a plea of sincerity.”

He was born Alvin Morris on Dec. 25, 1913, in San Francisco, according to birth records. His parents, Edward and Hattie Morris, were Jewish immigrants from Poland who divorced when he was young, and he considered his stepfather, tailor Myer Myers, his father.
Growing up in Oakland, Calif., he took up the saxophone after his grandmother gave him one when he was 10. The instrument — and later his singing — was “my passport away from poverty,” he later said.in high school, he formed his first band and after graduating spent about two years at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., but left to pursue music. For several years, he played and sang with bands in the San Francisco area, including the Tom Gerun Orchestra. When legendary MGM studio chief Louis B. Mayer heard them on the radio, he brought Martin to Hollywood in 1934 for a screen test.

It took him a couple of years to break through, and he eventually adopted the stage name of Tony Martin.
After signing with 20th Century Fox in 1936, Martin was cast in the Shirley Temple musical “Poor Little Rich Girl” and the musical comedy “Sing, Baby, Sing,” which featured Alice Faye, one of the biggest stars of the era.The debonair Martin had dated such screen goddesses as Hayworth, Lana Turner and Yvonne DeCarlo but married Faye in 1937.

When he hit the road to play in nightclubs, the marriage fell apart in 1941, the year he appeared with the Marx Brothers in “The Big Store,” singing what became a signature tune — “The Tenement Symphony.”

World War II interrupted his career, and his military service was fraught with controversy, including rumors that he had bribed his way into an officer’s commission in the Navy.
Discharged from the Navy, he joined the Army as a buck private and performed with an Army Air Forces orchestra directed by Glenn Miller. He left the Army as a technical sergeant in 1945.

Martin’s string of hit songs, which began in the 1930s with “Now It Can Be Told” and “South of the Border,” continued in the 1950s with titles such as “Tonight We Love” and “Circus.”During the same time, he was active on the radio, appearing on Walter Winchell’s “Lucky Strike Hour” and with George Burns and Gracie Allen.Segueing to television, he hosted “The Tony Martin Show” from 1954 to 1956 on NBC and was nominated for an Emmy as best male singer in 1955.Through their mutual agent he met Charisse, who went toe-to-toe in films with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. She stepped out of a dream,” Martin later said.

They were married in 1948 and had one son, Tony Martin Jr., who died in 2011 at 60.

Martin’s survivors include Nico Charisse, his wife’s son by her first marriage, and two grandchildren.

"I did not think that people will like me because of my background, like what I do for my living in America. I was not sure if this thing would be accepted. But I am very much happy with the welcome and response I have got here," said Sunny.

"What I found was so interesting that in India they did a complete separation like this is Sunny Leone from Bigg Boss and Jism 2 and this is Sunny Leone the girl from the US, they are two completely different people," she said.(Read: Sunny Leone's "safe sex" obsession )

Ask her if India is ready for an adult star doing a movie here, Sunny says, "I think they just took me in one movie. I think a whole new world has opened up. I think the young generation of people are ready to see someone like me on TV otherwise I would not be here, sitting like this."

was reality show Bigg Boss that marked the entry of Sunny Leone in the world of showbiz and she was amazed that her appearance on the show helped her in many ways.

"I think lot of backlash already happened when I was in Bigg Boss show. A lot of noise already happened about when I was there on TV. But after spending few weeks in the house, I felt something good might be going outside to the world as I was not kicked out soon," Sunny said.
They (audience) got to know me as a person, but things worked out for me, as I got this movie," she said. The 31-year-old was offered the role by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, when he visited her inside the Bigg Boss house.

"The show opened doors....opened a new world for me something that I would have never imagined. Bhatt saheb came in the house and talked about doing a movie. This idea never crossed my mind, I thought I will exit the house and never come back to India... but a complete opposite thing happened," she said.Sunny debuts in the erotic thriller directed by Pooja Bhatt, where she stars opposite Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda. The film releases on August 3.The newbie couldn't have imagined the extent of her fan following in India just with just one show and one film in hand.

I Am Under No Pressure: Yami Gautam

I Am Under No Pressure: Yami Gautam

Post her Bollywood debut in Vicky Donor, Yami Gautam is taking things rather slow for a while. In fact, the actress says that since her first Hindi film proved to be a runaway success at the box office, she can afford to be a bit choosey with her future projects. Buzz is that she in Vipul Shah’s next but the actress refuses to reveal any detail.

Yami says, “I do have a couple of good offers but I am under no pressure to choose one right away. After all, my debut film was a hit! When I sign my next, I am sure my director will announce the news.”

The actress’ former co-star Ayushmann Khurrana has already gone on to sign more films. Does the fact that she is yet to sign the dotted lines bother her? Pat comes the reply, “I don’t want to sound pompous, but honestly I find it funny being compared to another actor. I felt happy when someone wrote I did a good job doing my role in Vicky Donor. There was no skin show involved, yet people liked my work.”

So how has life changed after her debut film? Yami says, “I am still the same girl. I am grounded. My head is on my shoulders and I like to be with my family. They are proud of my work. My parents are really supportive and they are more contemporary than I am.”

Vicky Donor made her a household name. So has fame brought her male attention as well? Yami states, “I am single but it’s nice to have a lot of male fans. But I am in no mood to mingle. I enjoy being single and am concentrating on my work right now. I wouldn’t get into a relationship just for the heck of it.”

Mila Kunis calls dating Ashton Kutcher rumors ‘Bulls--t’

Mila Kunis Calls Dating Ashton Kutcher Rumors ‘Bulls--’

Sure she might be spotted hanging out with Ashton Kutcher, but Mila Kunis finally addressed the rumor that she and her former That 70’s Show co-star are dating.

In Glamour’s August issue, cover girl Mila Kunis, 28, said, “Ninety-nine percent of it is bulls--t. That is the biggest form of bullying ever, the paparazzi. Printing lies, making accusations, it’s just bullying.”

The Ted star also explained to Elle UK in the August Issue what the real story is. “I am totally single,” she said. “Listen, [Ashton and I] hang out. We've known each other for 15 years. We have mutual friends. We're comfortable with one another. That's it! There's no crazy love story, nothing more.”

Being that both interviews took place a month or two ago, it seems that the rumors may be true even though she called them B.S. On Thursday night, Kunis was supposedly Kutcher’s date to a wrap party for his movie Jobs at Duplex Restaurant in Hollywood. X17 Online released the exclusive photos of them packing on PDA behind bushes on an outdoor terrace.

Last week, Perez Hilton reported that the pair had a movie night in Santa Monica to see The Dark Knight Rises. In addition, they have been spotted going on other dates (i.e. 4th of July) and kissing many times since their “romance” began in April.

She told Glamour that it is hard for her to date, which is why Kutcher, 34, just might be her friend with benefits. “I can say this honestly: I don’t know what it’s like to date. But also, how am I going to date? I’m not in one state long enough,” she revealed. “This isn’t the right time for me to have [a baby], but I do want a family. I’d rather be in love and have a baby than have a movie.”

Has Jennifer Aniston Really Decided Not To Have Kids?

Has Jennifer Aniston Really Decided Not To Have Kids?

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is currently focusing on her career and relationship with boyfriend Justin Theroux. Does this mean she is putting her motherhood plans on hold or is it the next step in life that she will already take?

The 43-year old actress clearly stated her desire to have a family of her own. However, ever since she met actor Justin Theroux, Aniston apparently realized that she can still become fulfilled in life even without having children.

"Quite simply, becoming a mother just doesn't seem as important to Jen as it once was. Her main priority is her relationship with Justin," a source told the British magazine Grazia.

"Justin was open from the start that he wasn't looking to start a family anytime soon and far from being a deal-breaker, which it once would have been, Jen has realized that she's OK with that," the source further added.

Jennifer Aniston also happens to be very close friends with famous TV hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Chelsea Handler. The two may have even made the actress realize that she can actually be content without having to start a family.

"Jennifer is not ruling motherhood out altogether, but right now she is focused on her relationship with Justin. She may revaluate down the line  but for now she is happy with her life the way it is and seems to have given up on the notion that having a child will make her life complete," the source explained.

"For years, Jen chased after this dream hoping to get married again and have a baby," the source shared. "But she's realized that actually her life is pretty perfect as it is. She's found true love. She and Justin are wealthy enough to do whatever they want," the source added.

Aniston is totally smitten with her boyfriend Justin Theroux and there are now speculations stating that later this year, the couple could finally tie the knot. Right now, Aniston is clearly making the most out of her fortunate life as she focuses on positive things surrounding her.

Keen To Remake Dad’s Film ‘Manzilen Aur Bhi Hain’: Pooja Bhatt

Keen To Remake Dad’s Film ‘Manzilen Aur Bhi Hain’: Pooja Bhatt

Mumbai: Actress turned director Pooja Bhatt is keen to remake his father Mahesh Bhatt's 1974 controversial film 'Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain'."I would love to revisit my father’s film 'Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain' which was banned by the censor board that time. This film was a bit too ahead of its time. This is the kind of film that I would like to look at and may re-visit," Pooja told.

'Manzilein....', a drama directed by Mahesh Bhatt featured Gulshan Arora, Kabir Bedi, Mukesh Bhatt, Prema Narayan and others. The film, about two men and a prostitute, was banned for its "objectionable content."Meanwhile, Pooja is looking forward to the release of her film 'Jism 2'.
"The response to 'Jism' was overwhelming and we were quite certain that there is a market for that. I remember when I was working on the sequel 'Jism 2' lot of people in the industry told me what kind of a film it is, in the poster you have not shown the face of the girl, who is going to watch the movie," Pooja said."But I am happy with the response the trailer and the songs have got people have just loved it," she said. For 'Jism 2', an erotic thriller, the makers have roped in Indo Canadian porn star Sunny Leone."In Bollywood mostly films are made for male audience, keeping a male viewer in mind and that is why the item song, an item girl. I think that equation should change. Sensuality should not be a male domain it is high time a woman claims it," Pooja said.

This film is fiercely a female gaze. Though there is sensuality in 'Jism 2', we push the envelope, there is far more than that," she said. However, the director says that enacting the emotional part was a challenge for Sunny."She is comfortable with her body as this is what she does for her living. There were certain things that she did it well and with few others she had difficulty. But we were there to help her. She had limitations as she is not a trained actor. But she did a good job," she said.

Pooja Bhatt Hoping Erotic Thriller Jism 2 Brings Her Fame

Pooja Bhatt Hoping Erotic Thriller Jism 2 Brings Her Fame

Pooja Bhatt is hoping for success, fame and acclaim with the upcoming erotic thriller Jism 2, her fourth film. "I hope 'Jism 2' will be my 'Arth'," Pooja, 40, told lans Pooja Bhatt wants "Jism 2" to be a game changer for her, just as the 1982 "Arth" was for her father Mahesh Bhatt.
Pooja has directed four films -- "Paap", "Holiday", "Dhokha" and "Kajraare" -- none of which worked any magic at the box office. With the erotic thriller Jism 2, she is hoping for success, fame and acclaim.

"It's a coincidence that even I am at the same stage (as my father). Even he had made around four movies (before 'Arth') and none of them did well. He was at a point in his career where nothing was moving," she said.Pooja also finds a common thread between "Arth" and "Jism 2".
"Somewhere what's the specialty of 'Arth' is that a lady makes a choice not to be with her husband and neither with her lover. In 'Jism 2', Isna, who is a porn star, makes a conscious choice for her life too.

"We are talking about choices and that's the similarity between the two. 'Jism 2' is contemporary, it's a world view film. It's a game changer in more ways than one," said Pooja, who has roped in Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone to play the lead in the film."Jism 2" is an erotic thriller and has received an 'A' rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).While many filmmakers reshoot bold scenes in a subtle way to telecast it on the small screen, Pooja says she didn't want to get into that zone. She says it's not possible to tone down an adult film and so she'd rather show her movie post the 11 p.m. slot on TV.

"I have made an adult film; you can't really sell alcohol on a children's channel! So if one is making a film with the adult title, how can I water down and release it in prime time in the afternoon?" she asked.

"I am very clear I want the 11 p.m. slot or I am open with the home video market. I have to look at new ways to look at the market for my product," added the director, who played smart by releasing promotional videos of only those songs on TV that had no sexual content.
The rest were marketed online, "a more than worthy competitor of TV", according to the director.

"Jism 2", releasing Aug 3, also features Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh alongside Sunny Leone.

Is Kareena Kapoor Getting Insecure?

Is Kareena Kapoor Getting Insecure?
*---

The Heroine actor believes that nobody can replace her and that she will be acting until she turns 90. Is Bebo taking her super-celebrity status way too seriously?
Vidya Balan is serious competition to the top notch actors of Bollywood not just with her fabulous acting skills, but also with her ever-growing popularity. And the latest to feel the heat of Vidya’s raging success is the blue-eyed girl of the Kapoor khandaan – Kareena! It seems that Bebo is feeling insecure about her standing in B-town, since Vidya is cruising ahead with incredible speed with super-successful films like The Dirty Picture and Kahaani.

We saw Vidya showcasing her dirty streak in TDP. And those who have seen the first look of Heroine, where Kareena is showing off her seductive moves, could sense that Bebo is following the footsteps of her contemporary. But as Ms K insists, “I am not getting into anyone’s shoes. I am very much comfortable in my shoes and nobody fits into my size.”

Kareena did not stop there. When asked if she would make way for other actors and hang her boots up when the appropriate time came, Bebo had a fiery reply: “I haven’t thought of it as yet. I think I will be like Zohra Sehgal, working till 90…so tough luck. I am not going to give my place to anyone,” she said.

Does that mean Saif Ali Khan has to wait a little longer before Kareena hangs her boots to tie the knot with the Nawab? Not until she is 90, we hope!

The actor is currently staying with his third wife, Maanyata Dutt and twins – boy Shahraan and girl Iqra.

Sanjay Dutt debuted in Bollywood as a child artist in Reshma Aur Reshma (1972). It was at the age of 22 years that he played the role of a hero in Rocky. But it was only ten years later with Saajan that Sanjay actually started getting noticed as a bankable star. For the first time he was nominated for the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor for Saajan (1991). Post that, Sanju baba went on to change the parameters of a villain with his role as a Khalnayak in the movie Khalnayak (1993). Six years after that he won the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor for Vasstav: The Reality (1999).

In the year 2003, Sanjay Dutt was again applauded for his role as Munna bhai (Murli Prasad Sharma) in Munnabhai M.B.B.S. Post that Sanjay kept dabbling between light-hearted romantic roles, comic ones and the roles of an action hero with movies such as Parineeta (2005), Dus (2005), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), EMI – Liya Hai Toh Chukana Padega (2008) and Double Dhamaal (2011).

But recently he again gave an applaud-worthy performance in Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath (2012) as the evil villain Kancha. Hmmm, looks like the negative roles really suit  Sanju baba very well, no?

What’s more, Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming movies include Son Of Sardar, Zilla Ghaziabad and Race 2.

So on your 53rd birthday we wish you a happy and fun filled birthday with your tiny twins, dear Sanju. And hope that you get even more evil with your roles as the years progress. All the best for your upcoming movies and happy birthday, Mr Khalnayak!

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum movie review: So not ‘cool’!

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Movie Review not So ‘Cool’!

Riteish Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor are thick as thieves in the film. They laugh together, live together and bore us to death together…
The Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 promo shown mid-way through the film was way more entertaining than the movie, on the whole. And if we had to pick just one more funny moment from Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, it would be Tusshar Kapoor’s act of appearing in one of those teleshopping ads and quivering hilariously, as if a vibrator was planted somewhere deep inside his body . A threadbare concept with very few scenes that will bring a grin to your face, the rest of the film is plain ridiculous and annoying. And as the makers rave about how the film is for people who can handle a generous dose of adult comedy, we think that the main target audience of the film is excited teenagers who simply pat themselves on their backs after deciphering the meaning of a double-meaning joke and celebrate adulthood far earlier than they are supposed to.

There’s a scene in which a gay admirer of Riteish Deshmukh compliments him by calling him witty and Mr Deshmukh responds by saying, “If I am witty, then you are Churchgate.” Sigh. In another scene Tusshar labels a white foreigner ‘Albino ki aulad’. Sigh again. Now that you’ve got a fair idea of what kind of humour we’re talking about here, we think you should go ahead and watch this film only if you are in a desperate mood to revel in some mind-numbing jokes.

And just when you thought that we were highlighting flaws simply for the heck of it, just the way a caricaturist does in his cartoons, we find a positive point in KSKHH. The chicks in the film – Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma – turn out to be pretty decent, acting-wise. In fact, they also do what they are supposed to do quite efficiently – that is, bat their eyelids and wear the most fashionable clothes ever and we would have had thought of giving this film a thumbs-up if  Tusshar Kapoor had not shown off his rear in the film, supposedly imitating John Abraham in Dostana. That simply made us pucker our lips and turn our noses up in extreme distaste. Ew!

Ranbir Kapoor Pleads Guilty For Smoking Publicly

Ranbir Kapoor Pleads Guilty For Smoking Publicly

The actor had been accused of publicly smoking in Udaipur during the shoot of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor on Thursday pleaded guilty to charges of smoking publicly during his film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani‘s shoot in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district about four months ago. The actor sought exemption from personal appearance in the case, a lawyer said. Kapoor, who was represented by three lawyers, had been accused of publicly smoking at Gangaur Ghat in Udaipur March 28.

“Harish Vaishnav had approached the court saying that the actor violated the law by smoking publicly. The court issued summons to the actor on May 31, which was delivered to his house in Mumbai by the police recently,” said advocate KK Purohit, who represented the actor in the court on Thursday.

“We filed an application pleading guilty to the charges under the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act and seeking exemption for Kapoor’s personal appearance before the court,” said Purohit. The lawyer pleaded that the offence was mistakenly done by the actor and he (Kapoor) has assured the court that this kind of thing would not be repeated.

The court has fixed August 27 for the next hearing in the case, he added. The additional chief judicial magistrate had summoned Kapoor to appear before his court on July 26 on a complaint that he publicly smoked during the shooting of his movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in the town, some 300kms from Jaipur. According to a Rajasthan law, an offender could face maximum imprisonment of six months or a maximum fine of Rs 200 for smoking in public.

Bollywood Star Sherlyn Chopra Is First Woman To Pose For Palyboy

Bollywood Star Sherlyn Chopra Is First Woman To Pose For Palyboy

BOLLYWOOD star Sherlyn Chopra has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to pose nude for Playboy.

The 28-year-old actress attended a press conference on Monday where she was unveiled as "Bollywood Goddess Sherlyn Chopra", by the magazine. She will appear on the front cover in November. The beauty was offered the chance to pose for Playboy when she wrote a letter asking to strip for the saucy top-seller.However Sherlyn has revealed that the appearance has caused something of a stir in her home country.
In an interview with BBC Hindi she admitted that seizing the opportunity was not without its troubles.
Playboy is banned in India and some critics have branded "repulsive" for the shoot.

Columnists in the country have even poked fun at her being called a "Bollywood legend" by the magazine, saying she has only ever had "minor rolesHowever, Sherlyn hasn't let the negative publicity get to her and spoke of her inspiration upon meeting Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his bunnies when she flew to the Los Angeles based Playboy mansion for her photoshoot.
She said: "I am thinking of making him my idol because he lives his life on his terms and conditions."

Emraan Hashmi And Bipasha Basu Make An Unconventional Pair In Raaz 3

Emraan Hashmi And Bipasha Basu Make An Unconventional Pair In Raaz 3

Director Mukesh Bhatt is ready to send the chills down your spine with his horror flick, but the poster Razz 3, honestly speaking, fails to impress

This film – a Bhatt production and an extended franchise of Raaz series – comes with a baggage of tremendous expectations. We liked the original Raaz . It was spooky to see young Bipasha Basu wandering in the dense mist to unravel the mystery of her husband’s sordid past. Raaz 2 was technically sound, but the Emraan Hashmi and Kangna Ranaut starrer was not quite up to the mark. And now Mukesh Bhatt is all set to release the third part of his franchise with an unusual lead pair-Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu.

So here is the exclusive first look of the film. And trust, we are not particularly impressed by what we see here. The poster looks dull, dreary and absolutely desperate. We see Emraan Hashmi’s face in the backdrop overlapped by Bipasha’s curvy figure. The bong babe is scantily dressed, with some evil spirits trying to envelope her hot bod with their grubby hands. “ When desires turn evil,” roars the tagline. The poster doesn’t have anything that excites us to watch the film. In fact, it is downright tacky and unimpressive. We hope Mukesh Bhatt proves us wrong with his ‘unusual’ narrative.

Deepika Padukone Visits Ajmer Dargah For Peace Of Mind

Deepika Padukone Visits Ajmer Dargah For Peace Of3 Mind

While the debate on whether Bollywood stars should be allowed at the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Dargah in Ajmer rages on, actor Deepika Padukone says her sole motive while visiting such places is peace of mind.

"I have only visited the place once. I had gone because I believe in worship and god. Whenever we go to such a place, it is not because we want to promote our film. We go there for peace," the 26-year-old said here. The shrine's dewan, Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, who is also the sajjada nashin (current head) of the Chishti order and claims to be a descendant of the saint, said in a statement Sunday that prayers by actors, directors, producers and musicians at this 12th century shrine for success of their films and TV serials are "intolerable"

Meanwhile, when asked if she is in talks for starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela", Deepika said, "This is not true. The only film that I am working on currently is 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani', which is the most important for me right now because we have a lot of the film left.""There is 'Race 2', there is 'Kochadaiyaan' with Rajini sir (southern superstar Rajnikanth). There is no other announcement I have to make right now," she added.

Kareena Declares War On Sridevi, Preity

Kareena Declares War On Sridevi, Preity

The war is on. First theatrical promo of Heroine was launched in a star studded affair yesterday evening, hence pretty much announcing loud and clear that Kareena Kapoor has taken an early lead when it comes to its planned arrival this September. This also means that Sridevi and Preity Zinta have now been forced to find another slot for them as it is highly improbable for either English Vinglish or Ishkq In Paris to find a breathing space for them."It was always highly impractical for three major films and that too each of them being heroine oriented to release on the same day. They were thinking of 21st September but now only Heroine will arrive. The other two would now either postpone by a week or come even later", says an insider.

This was in fact pretty much on the cards once the promo of Sridevi's comeback film English Vinglish was unveiled more than a month ago. With feedback ranging from lukewarm to negative, it was a given that ad-man Balki would have to get his creative juices flowing all over again and think something different. Meanwhile Preity Zinta did release a poster of her Ishkq In Paris but has more or less stayed quiet ever since then.

"It is clear that Kareena has taken the lead now. The film is anyways seeing good hype coming its way ever since it was announced two years back. With flip-flop around the film's cast and later Aishwarya Rai's ouster further spicing up affairs, Heroine has constantly been in news. Now with Madhur Bhandarkar launching the film's promotion in such a grand and lavish manner, Heroine is already in third gear. It is time to escalate now", adds a close associa

Imran khan No More The Chocolate Boy

Imran khan No More The Chocolate Boy

The Bollywood's beloved Chocolate Boy, Imran Khan, is ready to break out of his sweet, bot next door image and eager to make the fans swoon with his more serious avatar

mran Khan who made a special place in the audience's heart with his pleasant portrayals of a romantic young lover-boy right from his debut movie "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na" to the more recent "Ek Main Aur Ek Tu", is finally coming out of his comfortable cocoon and stepping into the world of more serious genre movies.Signed for projects such as Milan Luthria's "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2" wherein he shall play Aslam, a character belonging to the Mumbai's underworld ,and Vishal Bharadwaj's "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" which shall depict him as a rough and rustic boy from Haryana, Imran Khan is definitely taking the more mature path which shall surely surprise the audience long hooked on to his Chocolate Boy image.Imran is wholeheartedly preparing for these roles and is reported to have been learning Haryanvi in order to play the role of a Haryana boy effusively. Having inherited the perfectionist traits from his uncle, Aamir Khan, the tinsel town's romantic boy-next-door is known for preparing extensively for his roles and is keen on winning his fans' hearts again through the newly embraced avatar in more mature roles.

It is interesting to notice this transition as all the major A-Listers seem to have followed the same trend going from playing the romantic roles to essaying the more serious and rustic ones. Be it Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan, they all started out with the romantic movies, but are now known for their grave portrayals in more matures movies as well. Let's hope that this transformation helps Imran Khan too to enter the big league

Parineeti or Priyanka In ShahRukh Khan Next And More

Mumbai: Farah Khan may have declared that Shah Rukh is part of her next directorial venture but she has managed to maintain a suspense on her leading lady. As per the latest buzz, the choreographer-turned-director-turned actor is in favour of casting either Sonakshi Sinha or Parineeti Chopra opposite SRK. Wonder who wins the race? But according to our sources, the surprise winner might just be Priyanka Chopra who's the current favourite of SRK.Kamal Haasan is in no mood for a Bollywood return

Kamal Haasan was supposed to make his Bollywood comeback with Sajid Nadiadwala's next which also marks the debut of Jackie Shroff's son Tiger. However, the deal didn’t work out and another South actor Prakash Raj has replaced him. Interestingly, Kamal Hassan’s last major Bollywood flick was Hey Ram. In fact, he hasn’t been part of a big banner Bollywood film in more than 25 years now!
Aditya Narayan, son of singer Udit Narayan, has donned a new avatar lately. He has grown his mop as well! The youngster is currently part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house. Earlier, he had made his acting debut with Vikram Bhatt’s 'Shapith' which flopped at the box-office. Following his dad’s footsteps, he even dabbled in singing but his career as a crooner never really took off. He also used to anchor a music reality show as well. Let’s see if he sticks to this job and creates a career out of it!

First Look: Heroine Trailer

First Look: Heroine Trailer

We have all been impatiently waiting to see this and now we present to you the very first trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine.

Much has been said about this film but after seeing the first glimpse (which lasts 3 minutes) of Bhandarkar’s “most ambitious project till date” one can safely say that this is one will rock the box office.Kareena Kapoor seems to have given a performance of a lifetime. We haven’t seen her do very exciting things in her recent projects, so seeing her in this avatar surely kicks the expectations of the film. Now it seems she has been saving it all for Heroine. The trailer will be launched very soon at a special event and of course we will be covering that.
But first, Enjoy the trailer.

Heroine, which releases on 21st September, 2012, is based on the life and times of a superstar heroine from the dream factory we call ‘Bollywood’. The film is a daring, shocking, glamorous, scandalous behind the scenes account of the reality behind the world of glitz and glamour that our film stars inhabit.

Kareena's Heroine pose a copy of Mariah Carey's

Kareena's Heroine Pose A Copy of Mariah Carey

Everyone fell in love with Kareena Kapoor's first poster of Heroine the moment it was launched. But wait a minute a second look at this poster reminds you of a similar pose by singer Mariah Carey.

The sultry poster seems to have been inspired from Mariah Carey's promotional photos for her music album The Emancipation of Mimi.

Now inspiration can certainly be a form of flattery but, given the hype, we certainly hoped for some creativity here.

But sadly, the designers of the Heroine posters have gone as far as to retain the exact pose and the backdrop of a bed like Carey's photoshoot.

Deepika Padukone to endorse scooters

Deepika Padukone to endorse scooters

Mumbai: Several Bollywood actors like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham have always been associated with macho motorcycles. Of late, even actresses have joined the league by endorsing chic scooters.Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Anuksha Sharma are already seen doing the smooth rounds on our tube. And now Deepika Padukone has become the latest entrant on the bandwagon. By the ongoing trend, the tussle to be Number One in the industry has shifted to the roads for real!Apparently, impressed by her brazen and bold portrayal of Veronica in Cocktail, she has been offered to become the ambassador of a major automobile brand. Though she has endorsed many products mostly cosmetic and electronic brands this is going to be the first time she’ll be associated with a two-wheeler. Our sources say that Deepika has signed the deal for a hefty amount but the exact figure hasn’t been disclosed yet.

One notch higher?
While adman Prahlad Kakkar feels that Kareena Kapoor is still Numero Uno when it comes to brand endorsements, he feels that Deepika too is catching up fast. He states, “After Kareena and Priyanka, this move by Deepika doesn’t surprise me. She’s young, has the looks and body despite being a thorough tomboy! Besides, we shouldn’t forget that she’s athletic given her background in badminton.”

Sunny Leone's lesbian love for Vidya Balan

Sunny Leone, the porn star turned actor, who's making her Bollywood debut with Jism 2, is smitten by the beauty and talent of Vidya Balan. Ameesha Patel stopped by custom officials

Mumbai: It looks like Bollywood’s archenemy at the Mumbai airport, Sameer Wankhede is at it again! This time his victim was Ameesha Patel, who was returning from UK. The actress was on her way back to Mumbai with her business part business-ner Kuunal Goomer when she was stopped by Customs officials. Our source says, “The two of them were in UK, searching for locations for their debut production venture. I don't have a make-up artist :Abhishek Bachchan

I don't have a make-up artist :Abhishek Bachchan

Ever since Bollywood producers have put forth their discomfort towards paying for make-up artists of the actors; the latter have quite willingly accepted their request. Abhishek Bachchan has joined the bandwagon of stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, who have agreed to the request of Film and TV Producers Guild.

“I don’t’ have a make-up man,” said Abhishek (chuckles), when probed about the same initially. He added, “On a serious note however, there is a union and union cards that take care of things. As far I’m concerned, I completely agree with the producers point and will surely abide by the new rule.”

"We (producers) cannot carry the burden of expenses that the staff charges. There have been times when the staff members of actors have charged exorbitant fees. They were unreasonable," producer Mukesh Bhatt, the Guild's vice president, had told PTI earlier.

While actors are claiming to have accepted the appeal of producers, Bhatt however, reveals that guild has so far just met actress Katrina Kaif, who has been very receptive and supportive.
