Deepika Padukone Gets Emotional While Talking To Jawans In Kashmir

Deepika Padukone Gets Emotional While Talking To Jawans In     Kashmir

The actor went all the way to Jammu to meet soldiers of the Indian Army. And even though she was unwell, the babe made sure she got herself thoroughly acquainted with the way a jawan leads his life

As Deepika Padukone played basketball and badminton with the soldiers and rode a T72 tank with great enthusiasm, the Cocktail actor wished that she could do this all day. From shooting a rifle to jumping off a wall, the athletic babe had a gala time with the Indian soldiers. But her day wasn’t restricted to sports and action; the soldiers also danced and crooned and entertained Deeps in the best way possible.  In fact, there was a moment when Ms Padukone broke down and cried when a jawan expressed his discontent about not being able to do much for his family, since his job was so demanding. The host of the show asked the actor if she felt the same at times, since she also belongs to a profession that leaves her with very little time for family. Deepika was unable to answer this question and simply held the mike and sobbed uncontrollably. It was an emotional moment for both the jawan and for Deepika and it seemed as if they instantly connected on that one subject.
The Jai Jawan Independence Day special aired on NDTV was a heart-wrenching one. We are quite impressed with the way Ms Padukone communicated with the soldiers, spent quality time with them, and lent a patient ear to their experiences. It was a great watch!

Stewart Dropped From Sequel

                                        Stewart Dropped From Sequel

Kristen Stewart has been dumped from the sequel to her movie Snow White and the Huntsman, The Hollywood Reporter says. And it's not clear if Rupert Sanders will direct, or not.

So KStew's little fling with Sanders is costing her, and maybe him too, a ton of money. The first movie is closing in on $400 million US in worldwide box office, which should mean big paydays for the sequel - if you're involved.

"The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise," some guy at Universal Studios told the Reporter.

Her ex Rob Pattinson, meanwhile, did a TV interview and everyone feels sorry for him.

Hulk complain!: Remember my item yesterday about Clive Owen, grumbling about how much he hates being famous? Compare that with what Edward Norton has to say:

Norton - most recently seen in Wes Anderson's charming little Moonrise Kingdom - starred in The Hulk in 2008, you'll recall. But he did not pursue the chance to play Bruce Banner again in The Avengers.

Ed tells Metro newspapers that he passed up The Avengers "for a variety of reasons - personal and professional - I don't mean to sound snotty but I don't aspire to spend that much time in my life doing those types of films. I have a lot of other things I want to do."

He's 42.

Hard drinking: Shia LaBeouf, once known for getting a snootful and getting into trouble, has been off the hooch for some years, but tells the New York Post that he made an exception to get into character for his new movie Lawless, about prohibition-era bootlegging.

"My drinking on this movie was as undestructive as I could possibly make it, if that makes sense," he told the paper.

Carey Mulligan Eyes Nancy And Danny

Carey Mulligan Eyes Nancy And Danny

Carey Mulligan is planning on headlining the black comedy Nancy and Danny, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Indian Paintbrush has set Man on a Wire director James Marsh to helm with a script from Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace).

The plot would see Mulligan as a small-town woman who winds up pulling another man into a get-rich-quick scheme gone awry.

Mulligan recently starred in Steve McQueen's Shame and can be seen in the upcoming Coen brothers project, Inside Llweyn Davis and in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

Universal Denies Kristen Stewart kicked From Snow White Franchise

Universal Denies Kristen Stewart kicked From Snow White  Franchise

Los Angeles - Universal is denying the reports circulated yesterday that they have stopped production on a sequel to 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and that Kristen Stewart has been dropped from any follow-up.
Digital Journal reported yesterday that news reports were stating that Hollywood star Kristen Stewart, KStew, of the Twilight Saga had been dropped from the sequel of Snow White and that Universal would most likely focus on a spin off Huntsman movie starring just Chris Hemsworth.

The reasons cited for her being dropped were her 'indiscretion' with director Rupert Sanders and poor box office sales of Snow White and the Huntsman. However, The Hollywood Reporter cited unnamed sources on Tuesday when claiming that Universal had decided to drop Stewart from the sequel.
A contrary story is being published widely today by USA Today and other online news sources but as yet has not appeared on The Hollywood Reporter site.
Deadline New York report that Universal Pictures "has taken the unusual step of outright denying a Hollywood Reporter story that Kristen Stewart had been dumped from the sequel to Snow White And The Huntsman."

Saif Ali Khan: Learning To Act!

Saif Ali Khan: Learning To Act!

From Main Khiladi Tu Anari  to Omkara, it has been an educational ride through the crowded bylanes of Bollywood for the Nawab of Pataudi. And as the Cocktail star celebrates his 46th birthday we look at defining roles of the versatile actor’s 20-year-long career in Bollywood

The first memories of Saif Ali Khan – born in Bhopal and brought up in the UK – as an actor was that of a long-haired, cherubic-looking, male version of Sharmila Tagore with a goofy smile, a silly sense of humour and an uber cool fashion sense. Remember films like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, Hum Saath Saath Hain, et al?

And the UK-returned son of the 60s A-list leading lady bumbled around in the initial years of his filmi career his first film was Parampara – doing humdrum stories packed with melodramatic characters. While the disconcerting disconnect between the real Nawab and his reel roles was apparent, Saif always had a project on hand to keep him busy and the home fires burning.

So neither his fans nor the critics expected anything meaty (read: powerful roles) of the dapper dude called Saif. But came the new millennium, and he shocked, stunned and surprised everyone with his striking performance in the cult-film Dil Chahta Hai.

While Farhan Akhtar’s creation called Sameer (name of Saif’s character in DCH) was still as silly and playful as the star’s earlier roles, the part seemed extremely close to the UK-returned actor’s real life persona. The upper middle-class mindset, the wicked sense of humour and the light-hearted attitude of Sameer worked wonders for Saif’s career as an actor.

Slowly everyone’s perception of and expectations from Sharmila Tagore’s son started altering. Fortunately, he followed it up with Karan Johar and Nikhil Advani’s Kal Ho Naa Ho, again a role with foreign roots, close to the real Saif, adding a new feather to his fancy hat. We don’t know if it was the appreciation for the decent performances that awakened Saif’s acting bug, or the scripts targeting the NRI market that finally connected the actor to his audience. Whatever it may have been, it was starting to work imn his favour.

The big real turning point in Saif’s career came with dark unconventional roles in Sriram Raghavan’s Ek Hasina Thi, Homi Adajania’s Being Cyrus and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara. The killer hidden behind the façade of a suave lover, an eccentric Parsi artist and a treacherous Langda Tyagi proved that the Nawab of Pataudi had the acting chops to match steps with contemporaries like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, etc.

But just when we had started enjoying watch the real Saif make magic with his zany sense of humour and out-of-the-box approach, the star actor seems to have gone back to doing far-fetched roles (the ludicrous spy in Agent Vinod and a romantic lover in films like Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail) and giving us nightmares very like those he induced in his earlier days in B-town. Turkeys like Tashan and Kurbaan – though his role in that one was dark and committed – have not helped redeem his reputation.

On this birthday (August 16) we’d like to remind the Khan superstar that it’s time to throw caution to the wind and thrust the envelope out of the window. And get back to some real acting!

Birthday Suite: Manisha Koirala

 Birthday Suite: Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala is one of the most loved heroines in the history of Indian Cinema. This Nepali lass struck gold in Bollywood with her very first film, 'Saudaagar', and went on to become one of the biggest stars of her time.

Known for her ability to do characters of diverse hue, Manisha was equally convincing as the epitome of innocence in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's '1942: A Love Story' and the complex and seemingly heartless woman as in RGV's 'Company'. She has also acted in some of the biggest hits in Kollywood, such as 'Indian', 'Mudhalvan', 'Bombay' and 'Mumbai Express'.

Priyanka Is Not Eyeing Satyagraha

 Priyanka Is Not Eyeing Satyagraha

Priyanka Chopra was in for a surprise when she woke up to the news making rounds around her being interested in doing Satyagraha. While the actress is hardly aware about what the film actually deals with, it has been claimed that she recently sent feelers to director Prakash Jha and expressed her interest in doing the film.

"This is untrue", informs a close associate, "Priyanka has most definitely not approached Prakash Jha for any film. She is currently neck deep into shooting for Krrish 3. Moreover her international album is about to be released as well and she is making frequent trips between India and U.S.A. for that. There are a couple of projects already in the anvil. In between this all, where is the time to get committed to another film?"

It was also being reported that while Prakash Jha had confirmed Kareena Kapoor for the film, he is now having another choice opening up in the form of Priyanka.

"That's entirely his call. If he considers Priyanka for any film, she would be most delighted as she obviously holds the director in very high regard. However the truth is that for Satyagraha, Priyanka is definitely not in contention", a trade source adds, "She has to promote Barfi! and then also wrap up Zanjeer. In any case, she is not bothered by such rumours making the rounds. She would rather concentrate on work than react to such baseless speculations."

Pattinson Wants To Meet Stewart

Pattinson Wants To Meet Stewart

Actor Robert Pattinson is planning a face-to-face meeting with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart to sort out their future as a couple after she cheated on him with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

The 26-year-old actor was left devastated after discovering that 22-year-old Stewart, his girlfriend of four years, had cheated on him. He has not spoken to her since he left the couple's home here last month.

"Rob needed time to deal with his huge shock and upset, but he's agreed to face her. He's back in LA to promote his new film 'Cosmopolis'," contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.

Now that he has all his friends around him, Pattinson has started feeling stronger.

"He's incredibly hurt, but he still cares about Kristen and is actually worried about how upset she has been. A reconciliation is not on the cards, but they both know they need to thrash things out," added the source.

Pattinson has been keeping a low profile at Reese Witherspoon's estate in Ojai, California.

Following the revelations, Stewart issued a statement saying how sorry she was and spoke about how much she loved Pattinson.

Sanders, 41, is married to actress Liberty Ross and they have two children together.

Salman Khan Ropes In A Pakistani Singer For Dabbang 2

Salman Khan Ropes In A Pakistani Singer For Dabbang 2

Actor Salman Khan, who is all excited about the release of the movie Ek Tha Tiger, has roped in a Pakistani singer for his upcoming movie Dabangg 2. And he is none other than Sufi singer Shadab Faridi, who has already crooned several songs for a few Bollywood movies and an Indian TV show.

Shadaab Faridi is extremely talented, with a rare blend of unique and powerful voice. He has carved a niche for himself in sufi singing. Sufi singing runs in his blood. He belongs to the Saharanpur gharana. Talking about Salman Khan's Dabangg 2, the singer said, "As a singer, I feel very lucky that I got a chance to be a part of Salman Khan upcoming movie. As a sufi singer its great to be work with Bollywood Khans."

Shadaab Faridi has already made his mark in Bollywood music industry. Before Dabbang 2, he has lend his voice for many Bollywood big stars like Saif Ali Khan's Agent Vinod, Bollywood perfectionist Amir Khan show Satyamev Jayate, R Madhavan's Jodi Breakers and Amitabh Bachchan's Movie Rann.

However, Salman Khan's upcoming movie Dabangg 2 is a sequel his Blockbuster film Dabangg, which has the music of Sajid and Wajid. Following its huge success, Khan has once again roped the duo for this film too. T- Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, who had acquired the music rights of Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2, is bowled over by its music and has even predicted a mega musical success of the film.

I am not trying to copy Madhuri Dixit, says Chitrangada Singh

I am not trying to copy Madhuri Dixit, says Chitrangada Singh

Chitrangada Singh is the new "item girl" of Bollywood with her sensuous dance number Kaafirana in upcoming film Joker, but the actress begs to differ and says she is no where close to that title.

The song sees Chitrangada Singh bearing a striking resemblance to that of Madhuri's look in the song Humko Aajkal Hai from Sailaab.

The actress said she fails to understand why she is so much in the spotlight for just doing a song.

"Its just a song at the end of the day and I don't understand what is the big deal about an item number. We had songs in Mughal-e-Azam and they were never termed as item songs. You just remember the song and the dance and it's beautiful," Chitrangada Singh said.

"If we do it in a certain way, and there is nothing objectionable about the lyrics or dance steps. Then I don't know why anything becomes objectionable or has to be explained," she added.

The 36-year-old actress also does not like being counted in the league of actors who have turned into item girls. "I get irritated by the term item number but I understand that it is the way people understand that you are not a part of the film but just doing a song. I think it's about just tagging the actor. It's good to keep changing tags as an actor, I have been tagged before and now I have got another one," she said.

Choreographed by Farah Khan, the song is inspired from Madhuri Dixit's dance moves and Chitrangada Singh says she wanted to bring about the dancing diva's sensuousness to the song.

"I am not trying to copy Madhuri, I don't think anybody can do a Madhuri, she is someone so special and it is a package that comes rare. We took the look that we wanted from Madhuri's song and tried to bring in that sensuousness to the song that she carries," she said.

The song didn't come as an easy task for Chitrangada Singh as she injured herself while rehearsing for it, but she is thankful that Farah changed the steps keeping in mind her injury.

"Farah is known to be this strict choreographer but I escaped her wrath because I injured my knee while I was rehearsing. I was on pain killers and I think she just let me go seeing me in so much of pain. She was really nice to me," she said.

Chitrangada Singh will be next seen in Sudhir Mishra's Inkaar on sexual exploitation of women at work place.

"Inkaar is a love story and Arjun has done fabulously well. I have seen the rough edit and I am very excited about it," she said.

This is the third time she is working with Sudhir Mishra after her debut film Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi and Yeh Saali Zindagi with him.

John Abraham To Produce RGV's Satya 2

John Abraham To Produce RGV's Satya 2

Though for past few years, Ram Gopal Varma has been struggling to give a hit at the box office, the director gained an iconic status way back in 1998 with his film Satya. And now, nearly 14 years later, RGV is planning to make a sequel to the film titled Satya 2 and has managed to get none other than John Abraham to produce the film.

RGV announced on twitter, "I am not making Satya 2 to prove a point to myself or anybody else. In 1997, I was new in Mumbai and my child like fascination towards discovering its nuances is what which got reflected in Satya. After a while my expertise on it increased to the extent that I started taking my knowledge for granted which obviously will result in a certain degree of complacency and repetitiveness. But in Satya 2, after all these years I came across a subject matter which has put me in awe of it and is fascinating me to no end."

RGV said that John Abraham has agreed to produce the film but he won't act in it. "John is not acting in the film, for that matter he is not even doing an item song. The film is being done with complete new comers many of whom have not even had stage or TV experience. John heard the concept of Satya 2 through a mutual friend (Ram Mirchandani, co-producer of Vicky Donor) and he expressed interest. When I met him and we spoke at length I was amazed at his insights into my detailed narration of Satya 2 story. It's purely our common excitement towards the subject matter which is making us collaborate."

Though the film is titled Satya 2, RGV claims that it is completely different from Satya. "This is a completely different story with completely different characters. In fact, there won't even be a reference to the first Satya in any which way." He also added that, "The difference between Satya and Satya 2 is that if Satya was a story of a man who came to Mumbai in 1997 and got shaped by circumstances in the then existing underworld Satya 2 is about a man who came to Mumbai in 2012 to create his own circumstances and reinvent the underworld."

While the principal shooting will start after RGV's work on 26/11 film is over, the director has already started conducting the auditions for the actors.

Bollywood Gossip: Ranbir Kapoor

 Bollywood Gossip: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor recently watched the special screening of Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 in Bandra along with ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Imtiaz Ali. After the film ended at around 1.30am, Ranbir left for his home.

When the actor reached home, two minutes later, Katrina Kaif’s Audi was seen going inside Kapoor’s house. The driver of the Audi dropped Kaif there and immediately reversed the car and left for Kaif’s house, to avoid any controversies.

We all know both Kapoor and Kaif do not want to confirm their affair to the world. So, to keep it low and hide it from the world, both the actors planned a secret date at midnight at Kapoor's house. It is said that the stars started dating while shooting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2009, but the couple had a break-up in 2011 because of Ranbir's closeness with his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri. However, Ranbir and Katrina are together again and are going strong – Oneindia.in

Eat well to look sexy: Stacy Keibler

Eat well to look sexy: Stacy Keibler

Hollywood superstar George Clooney’s wrestler girlfriend Stacy Keibler says that she stays sexy by eating well. The 32-year-old says she never skips her meals and exercises regularly, reported Showbizspy.

“I eat well. I make sure to have three meals throughout the day with two snacks in
between. I keep snacks on hand to keep my energy up. You can usually find alkaline water, raw nuts and my favourite bite-sized snack. I have a soft spot for desserts. I can’t help but have a bite or two.

To stay in shape, I work out five days a week for an hour and-a-half. My workout routine changes daily,” she said.

Katrina Kaif Got Their Tongue

 Katrina Kaif Got Their Tongue

Squabbling guests, shouting photogs, fed up ushers— this was the scene minutes before Katrina Kaif walked out on the ramp, interestingly in the middle of the show and not as the show-stopper, on day 4 of the ongoing PCJ Delhi Couture Week. And spellbinding silence is what followed. Clad
in an exquisite gold lehnga with a pink border designed by Bollywood’s favourite Manish Malhotra, the actor’s stunning persona made guests forget that they were clamouring for a seat a little while back. The show that started over an hour and a half late was seemingly packed to thrice the capacity.

Many chose to stand near the front row when they couldn’t be accomodated on their allotted seats. The photogs nearly came to blows trying to secure the best angle. With close friend Karan Johar cheering from the front row, the collection, many agreed, was Manish Malhotra’s career best so far.

Johar, who runs Dharma Productions, was reportedly unhappy with the way Dostana 2 was shaping up and reports suggested that the project was shelved.

While Abhishek Bachchan told us that the sequel of the hit film also starring John Abraham will not be filmed in London locations, Karan confirmed the same: “It will not be shot in London anymore that is for sure. It is happening but it may not be in London at all. It depends on filmmaker to filmmaker and subject to subject and what brings us next here. Right now, there is no film on the cards.  Talaash Ends For Aamir Film

The speculations around Aamir Khan Talaash are finally over. The film is indeed releasing on November 30, and not just that, one can also book tickets in advance. According to our source, the makers have opened advance booking in select theatres across the country, despite the fact the film is still over 100 days away. “This has never happened before for any Bollywood film, and perhaps this is Aamir’s way of making an announcement loud and clear,” says an insider, adding, “The film’s advance booking has already opened for November 30, in select multiplexes across the country.”

There had been multiple changes in the plans for the film. Aamir would be working backwards now to execute his 100 days plan. Expect the promotional campaign to kick-start any time soon,” the source added.

Winehouse's Ex-Husband Fighting For Life

 Winehouse's Ex-Husband Fighting For Life

Amy Winehouse's ex-husband is on a life support machine after collapsing following an apparent drink and drug binge, his girlfriend has revealed.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 30, was found choking in bed by his partner Sarah Aspin last Friday, and was taken to hospital with multiple organ failure.

The recovering drug addict had gone out drinking with a friend the previous day, and Ms Aspin, who is mother to his 15-month-old son, said she believed he might have taken an illicit substance.

Fielder-Civil was put into an induced coma and is fighting for his life in hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Ms Aspin, 34, who met Winehouse's former husband in rehab three years ago, told The Sun: "The doctors said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection.

"I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up."

She said Fielder-Civil attended an appointment with the Probation Service in Morley and then met a friend the day before he was rushed to hospital. He had returned home slurring his words and staggering before being put to bed.

Ms Aspin found him unconscious when she woke the next morning, and paramedics confirmed he had choked on his vomit.

Mitch Winehouse urged his daughter's fans to pray for her ex-husband, saying it was "terrible news".

Writing on Twitter, he said: "Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery."

Fielder-Civil has had a long battle with heroin addiction and spent time in prison in 2007.

He was jailed again in June last year for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm, and was only freed with a tag two weeks ago in preparation for his full release.

The former music video assistant married Amy Winehouse in 2007, but the couple divorced two years later.

Back To Black singer Winehouse was found dead in bed at the age of 27 at her home in Camden Square, northwest London, in July last year after a long battle with drink and drugs.

An inquest later found the star, who had kicked her drug habit, was more than five times the drink-drive limit.

Her father set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation in her memory following her death, which aims to help young people with problems and those who want to get into the music business

I Will Only Play Larger Than Life Roles: Salman Khan

I Will Only Play Larger Than Life Roles: Salman Khan

Be it a zany cop in Dabangg or a sturdy bodyguard in Bodyguard, Salman Khan says he likes to portray heroic characters on-screen.

The 46-year-old actor says he likes it when his movies are larger than life and whether its romance, drama or action, he will continue depicting heroism.

"I want to portray heroism in every walk of life. It's not that I only want to do action films, if I get good comedy or romantic movies I will take them up but whatever I do has to be larger than life. I will do films which make people happy. I want families to go and watch films in theatres like we did before," said Salman, who was in the Capital today to promote his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie also stars Katrina Kaif and will hit the theatres on August 15. In his 24-year-old career, it is for the first time that he has teamed up with Yash Raj Films.

"I enjoyed shooting for the film, infact I think I enjoyed so much that others weren't able to have fun. It took many days to shoot the film and Kabir

was nice enough to let us enjoy and visit the places we wanted to see," he said.

Salman plays a RAW agent in Ek Tha Tiger and he says he chose the film not because of the banner or star cast but because of the script.

"I liked the script that is why I did the film. It is true that you get attracted to all other factors like money, star cast, banner, but it is very important that the script is good. That is the reason sometimes we compromise with the story but I think that should never happen because you won't be able to do justice to it," Salman said.

Talking about working with Sooraj Barjatya after a long gap, the actor said, "He has narrated a script and I have like it a lot. The tentative title is Bade Bhaiya, I like it but he is not sure if he wants to keep it."

With the Bachchans' regularly giving out details on the child has only heightened fans' eagerness on learning more about Aardhya, especially when it concerns the looks department. Though guarded but seemingly keen to share some tidbits of his daughter, Abhishek gave away a few more cues at a recent film promotion.

When asked how Aardhya's facial features were shaping up, the actor replied, "Well, this is weird - I go on a promotional tour, I come back and her face has changed. And I am being told that for the first year or two, her face is going to keep changing."

"So, right now, I think it is evenly balanced. I don't know how good or bad a thing that is, because I am sure we all want her to look like her mom. I mean looking like this (he points to his face, and laughs) would be a bit scary for a girl", he added.

When asked on how he and Aishwarya are planning to raise the child, Abhishek said, "Aishwarya and I would like to bring her up as normally as possible. By the grace of God, my parents were fantastic. We were a very normal family and we have had a very middle-class Indian upbringing. We were never made to realise who we were or that my father and mother were huge stars - it was a very normal house and I'd like my daughter to have the same thing."

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Wedding Rumours False

Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not getting married this weekend, contrary to reports.

According to sources, the couple are hosting some kind of event at their chateau with guests including Pitt's parents and Jolie's engagement-ring jeweler.

But there is no wedding this weekend, People Magazine reported.

The local newspaper Var Matin also shot down a France 3 TV report of a Saturday wedding.

And officials in the village say they don't know anything about it and that it likely couldn't happen anyway.

"Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall," Patrick Mareschi, deputy culture secretary of the nearby village of Correns, said.

"Unlike with a religious wedding, there's no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home.
"]Photo agency X17 also said that they found out nothing when they looked into the scene.

"We sent an X17 photographer all the way down to the south of France - it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere - to check out Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's chateau Miraval to see just what's going on and ... drumroll, please ... there's NOTHING going on!" the website said.

Finally Bollywood made its way to the ongoing Delhi Couture Week. While Sonam Kapoor was spotted at Anamika Khanna’s show, Sharmila Tagore walked the ramp for designer duo Ashima-Leena.

Javed Akhtar with wife Shabana Azmi also attended Anamika Khanna and Gaurav Gupta’s joint off-site show.

Ashima-Leena
Day Two of the fashion extravaganza began with Ashima-Leena’s Raag Rattan collection. Clad in a bright orange sari, Sharmila Tagore once again turned showstopper for the designer duo.

Highlight of the collection was use of jewellery as part of a garment- like using pearls for border or stones on neckline which created necklace like effect. The collection concentrated essentially on bride with heavily embellished saris, lehengas, anarkalis, long jackets and shararas in whites, creams, greens, blues, pinks and reds.Instead of usual backdrop music, there was live performance by Sufi singer Zila Khan.

Off-site show
The joint off-site show was one of its kind with a long corridor-like ramp and sitting arrangement on either side. This show didn’t focus on bride and gave new meaning to the six-yard drape.

Anamika Khanna
Clad in a peach-black sari-gown, Sonam Kapoor didn’t walk the ramp but was there to cheer designer Anamika Khanna who presented a very striking couture. Giving an ode to powerful Indian woman of today, her collection was a modern take on traditional silhouettes.Saris sans petticoats or underskirts (some even with thigh high slits), sari-gowns with asymmetrical hemlines, modern cuts on traditional garments- Anamika’s creativity touched the sky. Colour palette comprised of pink, blue, ivory, beige, red, gold and silver.

Gaurav Gupta
Titled The Sylph Aviary, Gaurav Gupta’s show was a delight to watch. His couture comprised of draped gowns, lehenga gowns, his signature sari gowns in reds, pinks, oranges, yellows and nudes. With inspiration from Rococo and Art Nouveau, the designer presented a romantic-vintage couture.

I Day: Enough Talk, Now Act, Says Salman Khan

I Day: Enough Talk, Now Act, Says Salman Khan

Actor Salman Khan’s a man on a mission these days. And we’re not just talking about him rocking the BO with his films. The actor — who will be seen playing a spy in the upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger — is just as involved in supporting noble causes through his NGO Being Human, as he is with his professional commitments. In fact, Salman even insists that he values the fame and success that the films bring, more today, as he can now channelise them for the right purpose. “I want my films to do well, yes, but the success has a deeper meaning than just BO numbers for me. My films help me be in a position where I can help people, so yes that fame is important for me. I want to use my name as much as possible to further any cause that helps someone in need. If me being Salman Khan helps Being Human, then why not?" quips the actor as we catch up with him a few days before Independence Day. As for what the day signifies for him, Salman adds, “I think enough talking has been done already about how much we love our country, now it’s about time we put all that love into action. More than the words, our society needs to see action today.”

Elaborating further, the actor adds that the best way to pay an ode to those we owe our freedom to, is to work towards the betterment of those around us. “A little charity from each one of us can go a long way to help hundreds out there.”

But point out that the charity work by the actor is often taken to be a publicity stunt, and Salman waves it off. “People can do it for any reason. Whether it is for publicity or to get rid of your guilt, or whatever it is you want to do it for, magar karo na, that’s what makes all the difference and that’s all that matters. If in your bid for publicity, you can help even one person, then I think we should look at the good that has come of it,” explains Salman. “Our freedom fighters fought for our independence, now that we are a free country, let’s try and make some difference as individuals. They gave us enough to be proud of them. Now, let us give something to our coming generations, so they can be proud of us too,” shares Salman.

Madhuri Dixit Turns ‘Devi’ For Anju Modi

Madhuri Dixit Turns ‘Devi’ For Anju Modi

New Delhi, (IANS) Clad in a beautiful lehanga-choli teamed up with a red dupatta and sindoor on her head, Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit turned “devi” for veteran designer Anju Modi at the ongoing Delhi Couture Week (DCW).

“My collection revolves around Bengali literature including ‘Charulata’, ‘Devi’, ‘Parineeta’ and ‘Devdas’. And the common theme about all of these literatures is the depiction of a powerful woman as the central character. That’s why I have focused on the power of woman who is not only lovable but also energetic,” Modi told IANS after the show.

“Madhuri is the epitome of elegance, an intelligent, passionate human being. Even after her marriage, she has maintained her charm and that’s why she is the devi of my collection,” Modi said.

This was the first time that the actress was seen walking the ramp for any designer, and she looked gorgeous in her signature smile teamed up with elegance and panache in her walk.

Husband Shriram Nene graced the front row and cheered for his wife.

Modi’s collection included lehangas, achkans and saris in colours that varied from red, white and black. Muslin, silk, cotton were the prominent fabrics used in her collection.

The designer has been making Madhuri’s outfits for her TV reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Ja” as well. She said they both have been associating for a year now.

“I have known Madhuri for a year now. Like a typical American, she was shopping online and she came across my clothes. When I met her, I found her to be a down-to-earth person. She eventually became my muse.”

Though the actress avoided talking to the media after the show, but her maiden appearance on the ramp surely crowned her as one of the gorgeous looking divas in Bollywood history.

Horor Erotis 'Raaz 3' Kembali Dibintangi Bipasha Basu

Horor Erotis 'Raaz 3' Kembali Dibintangi Bipasha Basu

Tak mau berdiam diri, Maithli belajar ilmu hitam demi menghancurkan karir Sanjana.

Awalnya peran Maithli jatuh pada Jaqueline Fernandez. Berhubung aktris satu ini enggan disebut simbol seks Bollywood, maka pilihan jatuh pada Bipasha Basu setelah menolak terlibat pada sekuel pertama.

Aamir Khan to shoot ‘Talaash’ music video with Kareena Kapoor & Rani Mukerji

Aamir Khan to shoot ‘Talaash’ music video with Kareena Kapoor & Rani Mukerji

The actor wants the video to be used as a promotional for his film Talaash

Aamir Khan will shake a leg with beauties Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in a music video for their film Talaash. The promotional video is Aamir’s brainchild. It will be the only chance for audiences to view the actor and his two co-stars together, as all three are not part of any scene together in the movie.

Talaash is a thriller directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment. According to reports, Excel’s spokesperson has confirmed the news of the music video, saying, “Aamir came up with the idea of shooting a music video with all three stars together and we all instantly agreed. It is a great idea as having Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor dancing together in a music video is the recipe for total entertainment.”

Guess this is Aamir’s strategy to grab the attention of audiences who are going through a lull after the initial excitement of watching the first trailer, and have been waiting endlessly for the thriller to hit the theatres! Talaash releases November 30, 2012

Will Shahid Kapoor Revamp His Career?

Will Shahid Kapoor Revamp His Career?

The road to the top hasn’t been a smooth one for the Teri Meri Kahaani actor. So we quiz the cards to find out if any more road blocks await this chocolate boy of B-town

Shahid Kapoor has had a cold response at the box office for his recent films. But has he let go of his disappointments? What does the future hold for Shahid? Tarot reader Shruti Chopra finds out!

Shahid, being ruled by the numbers 7 and 1 is extremely dictated by his emotions and because he internalises this to such an extent, he can find himself getting hurt quite easily. He has the capabilities to use his emotions in his creativity and receive success from it, but will he manage to?

The Tarot cards indicate various things. Shahid is being represented by the King of Swords – someone who has become wiser from recent experiences and is looking to plan a stronger future. He wishes to listen to himself more, but with the Three of Swords he does question his ability to choose the right films for himself. Despite this, Shahid will manage to overcome this and will be on top of his game. He will work with some good director/producer teams. In fact, as his confidence grows over the course of one year, we will find Shahid directing his career path stronger than ever. With the support of the Three of Pentacles and the King of Wands, he will have the ability to adapt himself to do justice to his work. But there is a warning, initially he should be wary of signing on too many films that may seem like lucrative opportunities, but with the Devil there, they may not turn out to be so.

Shahid’s mental baggage from his last two failures is immense. With Mausam, he believes that it did not get its’ due. The Page of Cups suggests that he does not believe it deserved the fate it received, instead he feels that it will be appreciated in times to come. Whereas with Teri Meri Kahaani, the disappointment comes from believing that he gave the film his all. Like the Magician, he left not stone unturned with his efforts. Over time, he will reconcile to its’ result.

The Page of Swords and Two of Pentacles do warn Shahid to be watchful of his finances and apply necessary caution to it. A slight mis-judgment can cause instability. This also applies to his personal life (family and friends) – avoidable conflict can cause life to become tougher. Good, clear communication will see him through this phase.

2013 is a number 6 year for Shahid – a year of creativity, a year to explore and benefit from various potentials in work and love.

Hollywood Actress Does Obama Ad for Planned Parenthood; Recycles PPFA myths

Hollywood Actress Does Obama Ad for Planned Parenthood; Recycles PPFA myths

Planned Parenthood has Hollywood stars and starlets speak for the organization all the time. But the latest ad promoting Planned Parenthood comes with a twist – it’s not from Planned Parenthood, but from the Obama campaign.

The advertisement features Elizabeth Banks, star of movies like “The 40 Year Old Virgin” and “The Hunger Games.” She talks passionately about how Planned Parenthood provides “essential services for women all across this country” and decries what she thinks is the overemphasis on “controversial services.”

Banks, of course, is recycling the old Planned Parenthood saw that “controversial services” –read abortion–represent only a small fraction of Planned Parenthood’s offerings. Having trotted out that misleading statement, she then tries to say that all the good Planned Parenthood does will come crashing down if Romney is elected.

We’ll report what she says and then point out its obvious flaws. Banks says,

“These services that they provide — what is it? Ninety-five percent of them don’t involve anything controversial, so for that little 5 percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesn’t agree with, he’s going to take away cancer screenings? What is he doing? He’s going to take people’s access to health care. We’re talking about working class ladies who need health care.”

“That’s Planned Parenthood,” Banks tells the camera. “I don’t know how a lot of communities could get by without them.”

Banks quickly pivots from there to the pro-Obama endorsement, saying “President Obama has not compromised on women’s rights.  And that’s why President Obama needs to stay in office.”

At that point, the ad ends, with the familiar Obama circle logo sunrise over striped fields coming up and the website “BARACKOBAMA.COM/WOMEN” popping up along with buttons where you can ‘Sign up” or “Donate.”

That website is copyrighted and paid for by the 2011-2012 “Obama for America” campaign.

What to say?

For starters, what is surprising is not the misleading claims made about Planned Parenthood. Although they usually try to argue that abortion represents an even smaller percentage of the chain’s services, it’s a very, very familiar argument.

But this is perhaps is the first time that a presidential candidate, a sitting American president, has essentially sponsored a promotional ad for a private corporation.  That it happens to be an ad for the nation’s largest abortion chain, responsible for more than a quarter of all abortions performed each year in the U.S., only makes it doubly shocking.

Though the canard of abortion’s being only 3% or 5% of Planned Parenthood’s services will be repeated over and over again in hopes that people will believe it, it must be challenged each time with these basic facts:

Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider and promoter, taking the lives of about 330,000 children a year and raking in a hundred million dollars or more in revenues from the grisly practice. And if Obama is re-elected, and ObamaCare fully implemented, his friends at Planned Parenthood stand to rake in hundreds of millions more.

It should surprise no one to hear that Planned Parenthood’s political arm has officially endorsed President Obama and has indicated in its endorsement announcement that it is “stepping up in 2012 to play a bigger role than it has ever before in the elections.” This ad from the Obama campaign seems to be evidence of the old adage, “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.”

The ad never mentions the word “abortion” directly. Banks talks only of contraceptives and cancer screenings.  The only oblique reference is to the 5% of services that may be “controversial,” for which pro-life candidate Mitt Romney would supposedly hold women’s “cancer screenings” hostage.

As Obama and Planned Parenthood hope many others will do, Banks never considers why, if all those other services are so essential and the “controversial services” constitute such a minute part of PPFA’s portfolio, why doesn’t Planned Parenthood just drop “controversial” services like abortion which cause so many in the public to feel queasy about supporting the organization with their tax dollars?

The truth, of course, is two-fold: (1) Abortion represents a much bigger part of Planned Parenthood’s agenda than Banks suggests; and (2) abortion produces enormous revenues, fattening PPFA’s bottom line.

Sometimes PPFA or its defenders talk about “controversial services” like abortion making up 3% or 5% or even 10%.  The smallest figure, the 3%, is a figure they generate by counting each and every service equally – including many of the services that are sold with the abortion.

So a woman coming in for abortion will be sold not just the abortion but also perhaps a pregnancy test, an STD test, labwork like an Rh test, maybe an ultrasound, pain pills, and then could also be billed for contraceptives she takes home or even receives in the mail for the coming three months.   Abortion is the basis for the entire commercial transaction, but by Planned Parenthood’s counting only represents a fraction of the total “services’ provided.

Toss in that abortion (the Guttmacher Institute says the average cost is $451 for a standard first-trimester surgical abortion) represents a considerably larger revenue stream than many of these cheaper ancillary services, and one readily sees how “essential” abortion is to Planned Parenthood.

Consider these “cancer screenings” that Banks talks about.  Planned Parenthood’s 2009-2010 annual report says that it performed 747,607 “breast exams/breast care” services and 769,769 “Pap Tests”  in 2010.   That was against 329,445 abortions.  Before deciding this is evidence that Planned Parenthood is indeed more concerned about breast health and cancer screenings than abortion, do the math.

Planned Parenthood’s Southwest and Central Florida affiliate (seven clinics in the Sarasota and St. Pete area) charges $89 for an annual exam that includes a pap smear and manual breast exam.[1]  (As far as we have been able to tell, Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms.) Taking that as the base price for both exams together, and ignoring what other “services” may have been included in the exam, that yields just $68,509,441 in revenues.   A lot, but wait until you see what they would have taken in from abortion.

By contrast, treating all of Planned Parenthood’s 329,445 abortions for 2010 as simple, first-trimester surgical abortions (even though we know that Planned Parenthood clinics advertise and perform more expensive chemical and second trimester surgical abortions), at the going rate of $451 Guttmacher gives us, that would equal $148,579,695 in revenue. That is  more than double what Planned Parenthood would have taken in from breast exams and pap tests.

Whether Obama has done the math, we don’t know.  He has obviously done some sort of political calculation with his campaign’s claim of the GOP’s alleged “War on Women,” thinking he can frighten women into believing that Republicans want to take away women’s mammograms and cancer screenings; this ad for Planned Parenthood is clearly a part of that.

What it really demonstrates, however is that Planned Parenthood and this administration will hold women’s health care hostage to this rabid, radical abortion agenda and that they’re teaming up to sell this bill of goods to the American public

Roshan will be celebrating janmashtami at Worli's Jamboree Maidan which is organized by politician Sachin Ahir.

"The joy of participating in a real life dahi handi of such massive scale is unparalleled and unbeatable. This festival brings the entire community together. I am looking forward to seeing how these agile Govindas perform on Janmashtami day," said Hrithik in an interview to a daily.

Apart from Hrithik the event will also have actor Emraan Hashmi and Esha Deol, who recently got married to Bharat Takhtani, perfuming a ballet playing Radha before the crowd.

More than 400 govinda mandals will participate in the Janmashtami celebrations organized by Ahir and his wife Sangeeta in Worli.

Katrina Kaif: ‘Raajneeti’ Sequel Is Brilliant

Katrina Kaif: ‘Raajneeti’ Sequel Is Brilliant

The Ek Tha Tiger actor is looking forward to working with director Prakash Jha again

Actor Katrina Kaif, who won critical acclaim for her role in the 2010 film Raajneeti, is excited to be part of the movie’s sequel. She has a hint of the script, and is looking forward to working with director Prakash Jha again.

“There are very few scripts that are genuinely entertaining. Raajneeti is a script which has been worked on for years. I did hear the idea, I think it’s a genius and brilliant idea. I really hope everything falls in place. The only thing is most of the characters have been killed in the first part,” said Katrina.

Raajneeti, a political thriller, also featured Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.

The 28-year-old actor revealed that Jha is currently busy working on another film with Amitabh Bachchan, but she has had several discussions with him on the sequel. “It is genuinely a good idea. I find it exciting and I really like the character. Right now, he (Jha) is working on another film called Satyagraha with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), but I would love to work with him again. With Prakash we had many discussions on the scripts. He has told me the basic story of the film, but not the entire script, so we have time for that,” she said.

'I love Guys Who Are Bang On': Preity Zinta In The Trailer Of 'Ishkq In Paris'

'I love Guys Who Are Bang On': Preity Zinta In The Trailer Of 'Ishkq In Paris'

"I love guys who are bang on and don't waste any time," quips the beautiful and the vivacious Preity Zinta in the official trailer of her debut home production, “Ishkq in Paris”.

On Thursday, August 09, 2012, Preity tweeted the video and shared it with her ardent fans. “Here is the trailor for #Ishkqinparis. Let me know your thoughts people,” she said.
View slideshow: Preity Zinta in Ishkq in Paris

PZ who is back on the silver screen after four years does not disappoint fans; she looks as fresh and beautiful as ever. Her chemistry with Rhehan Malliek is fun and lively.

The treatment and the plot of “Ishkq in Paris” is contemporary, similar to what audiences have already experienced in Kareena and Imran’s “Ek Main Aurr Ek Tu.”

Rhehan looks comfortable and maintains his composure in his debut against an established star. His characterization is modern and he represents the modern-day man when he says, “"Strong advice - Don't get married, that's why I don't go beyond a night."

With the city of love Paris as the backdrop, the audiences are in for a fun ride with foot-tapping music, breathtaking visuals, humorous anecdotes and a couple, who perhaps eventually falls in love.

The concept of love and relationship in “Ishkq in Paris” may be different than a Yash Chopra film, but, it will definitely hit a chord with the hopeless romantic who believes that love prevails.

Directed by Prem Soni, “Ishkq in Paris” will also feature Salman Khan and Shekhar Kapoor in cameo roles.
